How to make yours

Christmas crackers are a traditional Christmas favourite in theUK. They were first made in about 1850 by a London sweet maker called Tom Smith.

The Christmas Crackers that are used today are short cardboard tubes wrapped in colourful paper. There is normally a Cracker next to each plate on the Christmas dinner table. When the crackers are pulled - with a bang! - a colourful party hat, a toy or gift and a festive joke falls out! The party hats look like crowns and it is thought that they symbolise the crowns that might have been worn by the Wise Men.

BONFIRE NIGHT

On the 5th of November

Bonfire Night, or Guy Fawkes’ Night, is celebrated on November 5th with large public firework displays and bonfires. It commemorates the failed attempt of Guy Fawkes to assassinate King James of England in 1604. Guy Fawkes tried to hide gunpowder under the Houses of Parliament and blow up the King as he opened a new parliament session. Fortunately (for the King), his plot was discovered and Guy Fawkes was executed along with his fellow conspirators. It is traditional to burn an effigy of Guy Fawkes on the bonfire.  Actually, there has long been a pagan rite associated with this time of year, the beginning of winter. People would destroy unwanted and possibly infectious items, including animal carcasses - hence, bone fire/bonfire – before the difficult winter.

Here I am, one more time, to share with all of you something about British Celebrations.
Soon we´ll celebrate CHRISTMAS. There are some important dates during this Holidays Time: It is Christmas Eve on the 24th of December. It is Christmas Day on the 25th of December. And on the 26th of December, people from United Kingdom celebrate the popular "BOXING DAY".

LIBRO DE CONO DIGITAL

Hoy quiero comentaros un asunto muy interesante. He creado una licencia para cada uno de mis alumnos para poder acceder al libro de Cono de este curso pero en formato digital. De esta forma, esos alumnos "despistadillos" que se dejan el libro en clase el día antes del control, tendrán una oportunidad de estudiar.

Para poder acceder al libro, debéis seguir las instrucciones que vienen en el documento siguiente. Para descargarlo hay que clicar con el botón derecho del ratón y seleccionar "Guardar enlace como..."

INSTRUCCIONES PARA DARSE DE ALTA

 En el proceso de alta os pedirá una licencia del producto la cual tengo yo. Por ello, debéis pedírmela ya que es personal para cada familia. Podéis hacerlo por correo electrónico.
Si la experiencia os parece positiva, os ruego que me lo comentéis para ir solicitando las licencias de lengua y matemáticas.
